Online Grant Writing 101 Workshop
Oskaloosa, IAApril 1, 2026
9:00 am · 11:00 am
Grant Writing 101 provides foundational training for individuals who want to identify funding opportunities and prepare clear, competitive applications. The workshop reviews common grant terminology, how to locate funding sources and practical strategies for planning and writing a successful proposal.
“Grant writing is easier to approach when you understand the process,” said Lindsay Henderson, development specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach. “This workshop breaks the work into practical steps, helping you move from identifying funders to writing a strong proposal.”
Henderson emphasized that the workshop is designed for people at all levels of experience. “Some participants come in having never written a grant, while others want to refine their approach,” she said. “No matter their background, they leave with tools they can immediately apply to improve their next application.”
The session also covers how to outline project goals, gather supporting information, avoid frequent pitfalls and strengthen budget and narrative components.
The registration fee is $40 per participant, and advance enrollment is required.
For more information, visit the Grant Writing webpage or contact Lindsay Henderson at lindsayh@iastate.edu.

Princess Olivia, plagued by doubt about her worthiness, is unknowingly at the center of a plot to kill the king's son and seize the throne as she embarks on the perilous journey.
About the Author
Stacey Moore grew up in the heart of the Midwest with her parents and four sisters - a home with five daughters, similar to the Bennet girls of Pride and Prejudice but without the dreaded Mr. Wickham. She has her MBA and has worked for two large Fortune 50 companies and the largest professional services firm in the world. She loves words and writing, and while professionally she focused mostly on creating storyboards or deliverables, she now partners with the Lord to create stories that convey His love and the significance and beauty of His Word. She is blessed daily by her husband, two daughters, and French bulldog.

Last Call to Redemption: New Christian Novel Explores Forgiveness Through Faith
A man finds peace with God through forgiveness.
In Last Chance Forgiveness, Petty Officer William Cole’s life is a testament to resilience and redemption. Struggling with alcoholism and haunted by memories of an abusive childhood and the horrors of Vietnam, Billy finds himself at a crossroads. As he contemplates ending his life in an empty church, a chance encounter with a compassionate pastor ignites a spark of hope. This pivotal moment sets him on a transformative journey toward healing and forgiveness. Through the pastor’s guidance, Billy begins to understand the profound power of forgiveness – not just for himself but for others. Billy’s story resonates with anyone who has faced emotional or spiritual wounds, offering a message of hope and renewal. As he embraces forgiveness, he becomes a source of inspiration for those around him, demonstrating that even the most broken can find healing and purpose.
