Every month we travel to Smokey Row on the third Thursday to bring a fun painting event to the Oskaloosa area! Please join us for Februarys on the 19th.
This painting features a beautiful Cardinal set amidst a snowy scene, perfect for the winter season. This is the perfect piece to create this winter at Smokey Row. Pair this with a yummy drink and you’ve got a perfect evening.

The Mahaska County Master Gardeners are hosting presentations to help new and experienced gardeners have more success in their gardens in 2026. The presentation will be held at the Mahaska County Extension Office auditorium, 212 North I Street Oskaloosa.
The events are open to the public; the February 10 session (at 7 pm) is focused for adult participants, the February 24 session (at 5:30 pm) is focused for youth/4-H participants. There is no fee to attend, due to Iowa State University Extension and Outreach - Mahaska County and Mahaska County Master Gardener support.

Growing up without any kind of faith life, Barbara Heil had a life-transforming experience at sixteen years of age, when she encountered an outpouring of Jesus' love. As a result, she began to attend a Spirit-filled Protestant Church and later became a missionary, an evangelist, and eventually a pastor, bringing others to the Lord. Journey though Grief: 6th Annual Pregnancy & Infant Loss Retreat

This annual Awakening Grace - Journey Through Grief Day Retreat is about creating a safe space for grieving families to connect and heal. This space is specifically designed for anyone who has lost a child during pregnancy or infancy. We would encourage you to join us regardless of how long ago your loss was, whether it has been 2 months, 2 years, 20 years, or somewhere in between.
Although the retreat is geared toward grieving families, we encourage you to bring as many support people with you as you would like. If you haven’t experienced a loss, but have a friend who has, we encourage you to invite them to the event and offer to attend with them. We want to invite Dads, Moms, Grandparents, Siblings (over 12), Aunts, Uncles, and Friends!
This space will allow you the time and space to share openly about your child(ren), provide you with tools and resources to help you continue on your grief journey, and equip you with an amazing community to walk alongside you on this journey. This space is designed as a place where we can take a break from our normal lives and come together to grieve and remember our heavenly babies, while also healing and learning tools to help us in our grief journey.

Since 2007, the event has diverted more than 753,000 pounds of e-waste from landfills. Organizers hope to collect more than 50,000 pounds this year. Join us for the 39th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade. You've seen the Painting with Lights in Oskaloosa, come check out the creativity of the parade entries with all the colors and lights.
The weeklong festivities will include the Young Ambassador Contest, Window Decorating, Home Decorating contests, Gospel Christmas Concert, Merry Little Downtown Christmas and more. We welcome the community to invite family, friends and visitors to make a trip to Oskaloosa.
As you visit the town, you can always get hot cocoa, apple cider or that warm Christmas cup of coffee at the local coffee shop; visit the Alley, decorated for the holiday; visit the quaint little bookstore for a Christmas read; or shop unique shops along the square for that perfect Christmas gift. Come see the lights, grab your cameras, and come celebrate Christmas in Oskaloosa.
