Summary/Objective: The HCBS Homes Direct Support Professional I is responsible for implementation and documentation of goals and objectives for individuals served. The DSPI will be an active advocate for individuals served with an emphasis on individual choice and decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in general repairs preferred.
  • Understand the approved use of various chemicals and cleaning agents and be able to use and follow all SDS materials/precautions and directions associated with them.
  • The position requires sitting, standing, walking, the use of ladders and kneeling for extended periods of time.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist in all necessary repairs,  and upkeep to buildings, include painting, fire safety, tile repair, minor electrical, HVAC preventative maintenance, and plumbing.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment throughout the facility.
  • Repair cardio and fitness equipment as necessary.
  • Assist with landscape management and improvements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records including all equipment & small tools.
  • Proactively participate in safety protocols.
  • Ensure the safety of all members.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the pool system as required.
  • Responsible for keeping the CEO informed of maintenance and facility related issues that could affect the overall operation of the YMCA.

Now hiring for a Vineyard Manager to join the Tassel Ridge Winery Team

This full-time position is responsible for developing and maintaining the three Meadowcreek Vineyards which support Tassel Ridge Winery, all located within Mahaska County.

As a Vineyard Manager, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and provide regular updates concerning an annual vineyard operation plan that includes a budget, harvest forecast, schedule, and manpower needs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop summer and seasonal staff in support of the season's harvest-related goals.
  • Master operation of all vineyard equipment and arrange for maintenance when necessary.
  • Liasion with cellar and winery management to ensure vineyard operations align with winery and marketing events.
  • Provide technical support in the cellar by operating and maintaining the bottling line, pumps, flow meters, and other devices used in the wine-making process.
  • Provide or coordinate facility maintenance which includes analysis of lagoons and submitting results to the DNR.
  • Committed to working weekends and evenings as required.
  • Participate in a program of continual learning and skill development.
  • Effectively communicate and participate as a part of the Winery Team which includes regular attendance at weekly management and/or team meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor based on needs.

Requirements of the position:

  • Degree in horticulture or agronomy and/or two years experience in a related field.
  • Has a valid driver's license and either has or will obtain a CDL.
  • Has or will obtain a pesticide applicator certificate issued by the Iowa Department of Pesticide Regulation.
