Job Description
Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and dependable individual to join our team in a dual role position as a Part-Time Animal Caregiver / Assistant Animal Control Officer.
This position combines hands on animal care within our shelter facility with field support for animal control services in the community. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, comfortable in a physically demanding environment, and able to respond professionally in emotionally and situationally challenging circumstances.
We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong work ethic, reliability, and a genuine commitment to animal care and public service.
Key Responsibilities
Animal Care Duties
- Provide daily feeding, watering, and care of shelter animals
- Clean and sanitize kennels and animal housing areas
- Maintain a clean and organized facility
- Assist with adoption meet and greets and animal placement
- Support volunteers with proper animal handling procedures
- Monitor animal health and behavior and report concerns
Animal Control Assistance
- Respond to animal related calls during business hours and on call after hour situations
- Safely capture, handle, and transport animals
- Complete accurate reports and documentation
- Assist with investigations and work alongside local law enforcement agencies
- Participate in court hearings or case follow up as needed
- Attend required training and continuing education
Qualifications
- Strong compassion for animals and animal welfare
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, cleaning, standing for long periods)
- Ability to safely handle animals of varying sizes and temperaments
- Strong communication and professionalism
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently
- Willingness to respond to occasional after-hours calls
- Valid driver’s license
Training
Training will be provided. Opportunities for animal control certification may be available after a period of employment, with a work commitment agreement.

Job Description:
As a Golf Cart MechanicTechnician, you’ll be responsible for assembling and upgrading golf carts with custom features including lifts, lighting, upholstery, audio systems, service and repairs
Ideal Candidate:
Self-starter who can take initiative with minimal supervision
Works well in a very fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Mechanically inclined with basic knowledge of engines, tools, and wiring
Attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship

Responsibilities:
Assemble, modify, and customize gas/electric golf carts
Mechanical work on gas engines and battery systems
Install accessories and custom parts (wheels, seats, body kits, lights, etc.)

Ensure quality control on every build
Requirements:
Must have knowledge of gas engines and basic electrical systems
Strong troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail are essential
Prior experience in assembly, auto tech, and mechanical work preferred
Reliable transportation and strong work ethic
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet
Must be 18+ years old with a valid drivers license
Location: Oskaloosa, Iowa and Pella, Iowa
Pay: Starting at $20 an hour based on experience with potential increase with initiative and proven detail.
