Job Description

Tassel Ridge Winery is currently seeking a team and detailed-oriented candidate for a full-time Bookkeeper position. This position would be required to fulfill bookkeeping duties for Tassel Ridge Winery and provide related support to Interpower Components Ltd., and Interpower Corporation. This position is a full- time, benefits eligible position. Hours are typically Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm.

 

Candidates should possess some education beyond high school, preferably a two- year degree in accounting or 5 years' experience; outstanding communication skills; strong attention to detail; successful work history strong employment history; a self-starter; and have PC-based bookkeeping experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Posts winery deposits on a daily basis
  • Performs regular financial transactions on a daily basis and keeps records accurate and up to date for Tassel Ridge Winery
  • Coordinates Accounts payable transactions by assisting in placing purchase orders, processing of invoices, and printing checks.
  • Pays vendors in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all employee credit card statements have corresponding receipts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Coordinates Interpower Components Ltd (Milton Keynes, England Location) accounts payable transactions with the Credit Controller. Vouchers and pays vendors on a timely basis so records are accurate and up to date.

  • Maintains shared file showing various AP invoices.
  • Emails personnel promptly to solve issues on AP invoices.
  • Assists Chief Financial Officer by running end of month reports and saving them to the account reconciliations spreadsheet.



Ensures bottled wine inventory records are accurate and reported in a timely manner.

  • Produces and sends the Run Rate Report every Friday and at the end of every month.
  • Audits the tasting room inventory at least annually.
  • Performs actual inventory counts at the end of the month and end of the quarter within the cellar and warehouse; comparing actual inventory against the computer system (NAV) and the inventory reported on the clipboard.
  • Hands-on responsibility for verifying each Sales Representatives actual van inventory against reported inventory on a routine (generally weekly) basis.
  • Investigates and resolves inventory errors by collaborating with those who are involved in making the inventory transfers.
  • Provides monthly and quarterly reports to the President and Vice President

 

Masters the applicable areas of our computer systems and other systems as needed.

  • Is proficient in using other institutions online systems.
  • Writes and updates training aids or work instructions as needed.
  • Becomes the accounting system expert and provides troubleshooting assistance to other members or the team as needed.

Job Description

Oskaloosa Main Street (OMS) board is seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial team player for our next Director. The Director will work closely with the OMS board, the Mahaska Chamber staff, and community volunteers to center Downtown Oskaloosa as the vibrant heart of Oskaloosa and Mahaska County.

About the Role:

The Director is a full-time, salaried, management position. The Director is responsible for building strong relationships with community partners and analyzing, synthesizing, and developing revitalization strategies in consultation with the appropriate official and advisory bodies and coordinating their implementation. The Director reports to the OMS Board of Directors and the Mahaska Chamber Executive Director.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Familiarize public officials, retailers, community groups, partners, students, and the public with OMS programs, benefits, and activities. 20% of weekly time (roughly 5 hours) is spent out in the Main Street district building relationships.

2. Interpret studies and reports which analyze community resources and develop a strategy for achieving revitalization goals.

3. Work cooperatively with the local community to develop and implement a local action plan and timetable including public and private activities.

4. Implement local objectives and assist individual merchants and property owners through the development of revitalization tools, such as rehabilitation programs, existing state and federal funding sources and grant opportunities, administration procedures, etc., as appropriate.

5. Develop economic strategies to increase business in the downtown, attracting new users into existing facilities, and expanding market opportunities.

6. Act as a data and information source for the community, working with the Mahaska Chamber Director and the Operations Coordinator to prioritize and attend mission-relevant meetings.

7. Lead and assist with downtown events/activities through planning, design, and implementation.

About You:

  • The Director must be an outgoing, analytical individual with the ability to organize. They must understand diverse perspectives and develop strategies for encouraging collaborative thinking. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • The Director should have computer skills and be familiar with Word, Power Point, Excel, and social media trends for business as well as event promotion.
  • The Director should have an undergraduate degree and/or relevant, proven experience in Main Street or historic commercial district development, retailing, historic preservation, or small business development.
    • Experience with the Main Street 4 Point approach preferred.
  • Salary and Benefits Annual salary, $40,000-$45,000 (based on experience)

    • Medical Insurance – 50% of single or family plan coverage paid by employer.
    • Dental Insurance – 50% of single or family plan coverage paid by employer.
    • Retirement SEP IRA – employer contributes 7% of employee’s gross compensation.
