Papa Stan's Soap & Candles

On August 8, 2021, the Mahaska Diplomats welcomed Papa Stan’s Soap & Candles to Oskaloosa located at 104 South 11th (Village Cleaners). Owner Stan has been making soaps and candles for two years. Stan commented his soap is the cleanest you can buy, all-natural with minimum ingredients. Papa Stan’s has 33 scents and is working on a men and kids line to provide for the whole family. Besides soaps and candles, you can also purchase lip balm, bath bombs, essential oils, and more. Visit Papa Stan’s Monday- Friday from 9-5. Pictured is owner Stan with his excellent helper Kyle.

 

Coffee Closet

The Mahaska Chamber Diplomats welcomed the Coffee Closet to downtown New Sharon. Owner Delayna Sneed cut the ribbon after serving many delicious drinks at their grand opening on Saturday, August 21. They have a variety of coffee drinks including the ‘Barber’s Brew’ in honor of Earl’s Hair Hut which was the former business at this location. They also have the lotus energy drink which is a fusion of

River Hills Behavior Health 

River Hills Behavior Health held a ribbon-cutting on August 9, 2021, with Mahaska Chamber Diplomats at their Oskaloosa location 1417 A Ave East Suite 100. River Hills services include substance abuse therapy, play therapy, medication management, individual therapy focusing on multiple levels of behavioral health. They are accepting new patients with no referral needed, offer telehealth, and accept most major insurance and sliding scale fees option. Osky Christian

Mahaska Chamber Diplomats welcomed Shawna Goemaat to the Oskaloosa Christian School. Shawna has lived in the area for many years and previously taught at North Mahaska Schools. Shawna will be teaching Middle School Language Arts.

Job Fair

On Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 12 pm to 6 pm, the Mahaska Chamber will be hosting a job fair at Penn Central Mall in Oskaloosa. Bring your resumes, dress to impress, and arrive on time to meet with 35+ regional employers.
